On July 31st at 9:00 AM, the Shiyan Wenzhou Auto Parts Industrial Park in the Shiyan Economic Development Zone of Hubei Province officially broke ground. The event was marked by a ceremony where flags and banners fluttered in the breeze. The park, developed by the Wuhan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce, represents a major step forward in regional industrial development. Attendees included high-ranking officials such as Su Xiaoyun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Department; Huang Bo, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee United Front Work Department; and several other notable figures from both provincial and local governments.
This project, signed back in October 2005 as part of the Hubei Guangcai Enterprise Danjiang Reservoir District initiative, is a key effort by the Wuhan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce to establish a manufacturing hub in Hubei. With an investment plan of 500 million yuan, the park is designed based on the "big park, multi-production space" model, featuring multi-story standard factories and premium community-style property management services. The first phase will cover 440 mu (approximately 29.3 acres) and accommodate 30 small and medium-sized enterprises. It aims to attract 1.2 billion yuan in investment and be completed by April 2008. Over five years, the park is expected to generate an annual production value of 3 billion yuan and contribute 200 million yuan in tax revenue.
Vice Mayor Zhang Weiguo, speaking on behalf of the city's leadership, praised the project’s significance in attracting investment and improving the quality of auto parts manufacturing. He emphasized that the Shiyan Wenzhou Industrial Park is a crucial component of the city’s “double-billion project†for this year. He called for stronger organizational support, improved planning, and better services for businesses within the park, while also advocating for preferential policies to ensure long-term success. He urged all departments to accelerate construction and make the park a valuable contributor to Shiyan’s economic growth.
Huang Bo, representing the Provincial Party Committee United Front Work Department, the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the Provincial Glory Promotion Association, commended the project’s progress. He highlighted the importance of supporting local enterprises and creating a business-friendly environment. He encouraged the park to improve its infrastructure, attract more companies by lowering entry barriers, and offer high-quality services. Additionally, he stressed the need for scientific development, product optimization, brand building, and market expansion. Finally, he called for adherence to national standards, effective management, and the goal of making the park one of the most influential auto parts hubs in Hubei.
This development marks a significant milestone for Shiyan’s industrial landscape and reflects the growing collaboration between different regions and sectors. As the park moves forward, it is poised to become a key player in the automotive industry, driving innovation and economic growth in the region.
