The highly anticipated Beijing International Auto Show, which ran for eight days starting on June 16th, once again proved to be a major event in the global automotive industry. This year’s exhibition attracted over 1,400 vehicle and parts companies from 20 countries and regions, with an exhibition area spanning 110,000 square meters. Major global automakers such as General Motors, Ford, Volkswagen, Toyota, and others joined forces with China’s top three automakers—FAW, SAIC, and Dongfeng—as well as group companies like Guangben, Beiqi, and Changan. The event was hailed as the sixth-largest auto show in the world, showcasing a high level of quality, innovation, and diversity.
This year’s exhibition set new records in terms of scale, number of participants, and media coverage. It was a rare international car party, drawing attention from both domestic and global audiences. In response to this significant opportunity, the Dongguan Motor Show Organizing Committee sent a nine-member team to promote investment and business partnerships. Two deputy directors led the delegation to attend the event, conduct field studies, and explore potential collaborations.
Deputy Mayor Zhou Zhina personally visited the Beijing Exhibition Hall to oversee the efforts and met with leaders of the Beijing International Auto Show Organizing Committee. She expressed gratitude for their support and interest in the Dongguan Auto Show. With more than 60 auto shows held annually in China, only two organizing committees—Hangzhou and Dongguan—are invited to participate in the Beijing event, highlighting its prestige.
The Dongguan Auto Show Secretariat meticulously planned and executed outreach efforts, visiting leading global automakers and engaging in discussions with exhibition heads. They introduced Dongguan’s growing auto market, along with details about the 4th Auto Show, including its features, activities, and services. This effort generated strong interest among manufacturers, many of whom decided to visit Dongguan during the National Day holiday.
Several major companies have already confirmed their participation, including Changan Group (760 m²), Beiqi Foton (300 m²), Shanghai Wanfeng (300 m²), Great Wall (300 m²), Dongfeng Peugeot (300 m²), Dongfeng Nissan (500 m²), Zhongxing Tianye (300 m²), Chengdu Earth (200 m²), and BYD (200 m²). Over 30 domestic and international auto parts manufacturers have also expressed interest in joining the event.
As of now, more than 20 manufacturers have signed up, with booth space exceeding 12,000 square meters. Leading brands such as Shanghai GM, Beijing Hyundai, Dongfeng Citroen, Hainan Mazda, Guangzhou Honda, and Jiangling Landwind have confirmed their participation. International giants like Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volvo, Land Rover, Audi, Toyota, and Mitsubishi are also planning to showcase their latest models and concept cars at the Dongguan Auto Show. This event promises to bring a powerful presence of global automotive innovation to the Pearl River Delta region.
