Beijing, May 24 — (Reporter Zhang Yi) Ford Motor Company is placing significant emphasis on the upcoming 8th Beijing International Auto Show, set to take place next month. The automaker has allocated over one million U.S. dollars for its participation, with a booth area spanning 5,000 square meters — the largest display in recent Beijing auto show history.
Xu Guojun, Vice President of Ford China, stated that Ford considers the China International Auto Show (which includes both Beijing and Shanghai) as one of the world's top automotive events, alongside the Detroit, Frankfurt, Geneva, and Tokyo auto shows. The company is bringing a strong lineup of global brands, including Ford, Lincoln, Mazda, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and more. Alongside these iconic models, Ford will showcase a range of new concept cars and cutting-edge technologies, marking a significant leap in scale and innovation compared to previous exhibitions in China.
One of the standout exhibits will be a high-end concept car transported from abroad using a temperature-controlled container, arriving in Beijing via air cargo with China Airlines. It will be stored in a climate-controlled warehouse until the event begins, ensuring optimal conditions for presentation.
Ford remains highly optimistic about the Chinese market and continues to focus on long-term growth in the region. The company currently operates two joint-venture vehicle manufacturing plants and six component factories in China. Locally produced models include the Transit commercial van, Ford Fiesta, and Ford Mondeo. Looking ahead, Ford plans to introduce more vehicle models to the Chinese market, while also expanding into automotive financing and car rental services.
