When the doors of the Autodesk Gallery first opened back in 2008, it marked San Francisco's very first dedicated space for showcasing design and innovation. It also served as a testament to the incredible impact of Autodesk technology. Over a decade later, the pace of innovation, reinvention, and digital transformation has only accelerated. Today, our customers use our technology to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing the world, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to creating a better world for everyone.
I’m thrilled to share that we’ve completely reimagined the Autodesk Gallery located at One Market in San Francisco. Following a major renovation and expansion completed in December 2021, the gallery now features a whole new set of exhibits celebrating the innovators empowered by Autodesk technology.
While scrolling through my feed, I came across this interesting video about the gallery’s transformation. Unfortunately, the embedded video link seems to be missing, but you can definitely find it on the Autodesk Gallery website if you're curious.
The Autodesk Gallery: Immersive, Interactive, and Anchored in the New Possible
Back in September 2021, Autodesk unveiled its new brand—a bold, optimistic identity deeply rooted in action. Our gallery serves as a physical manifestation of this vision, offering a space to reflect on the positive impacts we can achieve together and to explore the possibilities of today and tomorrow.
Renovating a gallery as extensive as ours presented its own set of challenges, especially given the unforeseen circumstances brought on by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. From the construction kickoff in November 2020 until completion in December 2021, ensuring the health and safety of our team was our top priority. We quickly adapted to changing health protocols, maintained physical distancing on-site, and utilized Autodesk tools for remote collaboration. The team relied on BIM 360 for project management, Revit for designing AEC models, AutoCAD for 2D collaboration, and Navisworks to detect clashes and prepare models for construction readiness.
This renovation process during a global pandemic was a poignant reminder of the challenges our customers face across industries and the many ways Autodesk technology can help teams navigate uncertainty safely.
We also approached the gallery’s design with a focus on health and safety in mind—incorporating features like touch-free buttons, sensor-activated interactive content, and more to ensure a safe environment for future visitors.
The gallery will open for select tours and events in 2022. In the meantime, here’s a virtual walkthrough of this inspiring new space and the engaging experiences it offers.
Entering the World of Autodesk
As soon as you step off the elevator, you’ll feel the scale of the renovation and step into the world of Autodesk. At one end of the lobby, visitors are greeted by a large-scale looping video showcasing the breadth and depth of Autodesk’s capabilities and customer projects. On the other end, a modern reception desk draws you in and leads you to a physical representation of our new Autodesk logo.

Autodesk Gallery Exhibits and Experiences
At its heart, the gallery celebrates the incredible and innovative work our customers are doing across industries with Autodesk technologies. Alongside Autodesk-focused experiences, the space now features 13 unique customer stories. Each exhibit invites guests to explore cutting-edge solutions, groundbreaking innovations, and visionary ideas for a better future. Here are just a few highlights:

Perkins & Will used Autodesk technology to design its innovative River Beech tower structure, exploring opportunities for robotic construction, modularity, and prefabrication in tall timber plans.
The renovated gallery also offers three Autodesk-focused experiences to deepen visitors' understanding of the company’s impact.
Spectrum is a new experience honoring the innovators, problem-solvers, and experts improving the world. Featuring interactive portraits of Autodesk customers, it highlights the human side of innovation.
Prism, positioned at the heart of the exhibit space, serves as a central hub from which all customer stories radiate. Visitors can engage in multi-choice questions projected onto a large tabletop surface and respond with touch or gestures.
Future Communities is an interactive digital experience created in partnership with the Smithsonian. Guests collaborate—both with each other and with AI—to design a resilient and sustainable community. The multiplayer game fosters dialogue and helps visitors understand how AI and generative design can assist in making complex design decisions while balancing diverse priorities.
In its expansion, the gallery now includes a beautiful Executive Briefing Center providing a VIP experience for executives and customers, as well as a dedicated event space adaptable for various occasions.
From start to finish, the newly revamped Autodesk Gallery offers an inspiring and transformative experience for visitors. If you’d like to learn more, visit the Autodesk Gallery website.
