At Autodesk, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. It’s not just about creating cutting-edge technology—it’s about building a workplace that empowers our people to think differently, collaborate boldly, and drive meaningful change. We’re thrilled to be named once again as a Best Workplace for Innovators by Fast Company, a recognition that reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering creativity and progress.
This honor isn’t just about the tools we build or the products we launch—it’s about the culture we cultivate. Our employees are the driving force behind every breakthrough, and we believe in giving them the freedom, support, and resources they need to thrive. From flexible work models to inclusive leadership programs, we're continuously reimagining what it means to be an innovative organization.
To celebrate this achievement, I had the chance to speak with three inspiring leaders at Autodesk who shared how their programs are shaping the future of work and innovation.

**Workplace Innovator: Jenny Lum, Director of Global Projects**
**Program:** Embracing a hybrid-first workplace
"Autodesk took a different approach when it came to workplace flexibility. Instead of imposing rigid return-to-office rules, we introduced Flex Forward—a model that gives our employees the freedom to work from anywhere in the world where we operate. While in-person meetings are still important, they have to be meaningful. They should foster connection, collaboration, and real business impact."
"Our offices are designed to support this new way of working. We’ve created spaces for focused work, collaborative brainstorming, and social interaction. And with the Autodesk Conference Experience (ACE), teams can customize their in-person events to make the most of every meeting."
**Innovation Outcomes:**
Flex Forward has become a major draw for top talent. Since its launch, we've seen a significant increase in applications, especially from underrepresented groups. We know that diverse teams drive better ideas and stronger results.

**DEI Innovator: Ramona Blake, Senior Director of Diversity & Belonging**
**Program:** Diversifying leadership development
"At Autodesk, we don't just want to attract diverse talent—we want to develop it. That’s why we launched the NEXT LEVEL program, which provides mentorship and leadership coaching to underrepresented employees of color. The goal is to prepare them for senior roles and ensure their voices shape the future of our company."
"The program culminated in a capstone project called 'Innovation Idol,' where participants developed and pitched machine learning solutions for real-world challenges. It was amazing to see how quickly they adapted and contributed valuable insights."
**Innovation Outcomes:**
The program not only helped participants gain technical skills but also built their confidence and leadership potential. As these individuals move into more senior roles, their unique perspectives will continue to fuel innovation across the company.

**Impact Innovator: Christine Stoner, Executive Director of the Autodesk Foundation**
**Program:** Democratizing employee-led grantmaking
"We believe our employees are best positioned to understand the needs of their communities. That’s why we partnered with our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to give them direct control over $140,000 in unrestricted funding. They decided where and how to allocate it based on what mattered most to them."
"The process involved upskilling ERG leaders on strategic grantmaking, including impact planning, due diligence, and community engagement. This initiative empowered our employees to make a real difference in the causes they care about."
**Innovation Outcomes:**
From supporting LatinaGeeks to helping BIPOC girls explore STEM, the grants made a lasting impact. This model of employee-driven philanthropy is reshaping how we think about corporate responsibility and community impact.
