•This Saturday (November 29th), we're excited to host the Aurora Regional Fire Museum's 6th annual holiday exhibit and Gingerbread FIREhouse Contest! Over a dozen gingerbread FIREhouses, fire stations, and burning buildings have been meticulously crafted for this event. Contest rules require that all entries represent a firefighting-themed architectural structure (real or imagined), with everything but the base being 100% edible. Prizes totaling over $500 will be awarded by a panel of judges.
Also returning this season is our delightful family of festive firehouse mice—Coco, Sparks, and Ashes—who have set up shop inside the museum. Can you find them all? Coco is baking in the kitchen, Sparks is trying to ring the fire bell, and Ashes is decorating a 1948 fire engine. Spot all three and you'll receive a special treat!
The Gingerbread FIREhouse Exhibit opens on Saturday, November 29th, with judging taking place throughout the afternoon. Admission is free, and there will be fun activities like storytelling, a holiday mouse hunt, and even a visit from Santa the Fire Chief. The exhibit will remain open through Saturday, December 20th, and many of the gingerbread creations will be available via raffle.
