I was on scene yesterday around 3:30 AM at 500 W. 26th Street. A three-story building, roughly 100x150 feet, was fully involved in flames. The first-arriving units attempted an interior attack but struggled to locate the fire's origin. As a result, they transitioned to an exterior defensive operation. At the height of the incident, five handlines, multiple ground monitors, Squad 1, AT8, TL5, and TL10 were deployed in an effort to gain control. I arrived about 45 minutes into the response. By that time, Engines 8 and 29, along with Trucks 4 and 8, were still working the fire.
