The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District responded to a call about smoke coming from a townhouse located at 407 Catbird Lane, which is in an unincorporated area of their jurisdiction. Upon arrival, the first units encountered visible smoke and immediately upgraded the alarm to Code 4, indicating a working fire. Firefighters quickly moved into action and successfully extinguished the fire that had spread above one of the second-floor bedrooms. On scene, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods units included Engines 51 and 52, Truck 53, Battalion 51, and Ambulance 52. Additional support came from mutual aid agencies such as Wheeling (T24), Buffalo Grove (BN 4 and E26), Prospect Heights (S9), and a Lake Zurich ambulance, along with chiefs from Long Grove and Countryside. The coordinated response highlighted the strength of local emergency services working together in a time of need. Several photos captured the scene, showing firefighters in action. A Pierce fire engine was seen on site, while a ladder truck from Lincolnshire-Riverwoods was positioned through dense trees. Crews were seen cutting vent holes in the roof, and the aftermath of the fire showed the damage left behind. Multiple images also featured Engine 52, Truck 53, and other units from both local and neighboring departments. The efforts of the crews were documented by photographers Larry Shapiro and Dan McInerney, who captured the intensity of the operation and the dedication of the responders.
