On Sunday evening, I witnessed a house fire break out in Cicero and managed to capture some images. The incident occurred at 1225 on 59th Avenue. When Engine 1 arrived, there was already thick smoke billowing out from the basement. Quickly, Truck 2 positioned itself in Sector 1 and climbed onto the roof to set up ladders. Meanwhile, Engine 1 acted swiftly by forcing open the back door and deploying a 2 1/2-inch hose to extinguish the flames. As the firefighters worked tirelessly, I managed to snap a few photos using my phone.
The first image shows the intense smoke filling the area as the firefighters prepared for action. In the second photo, you can see the ladder truck in operation, its massive arms extending toward the rooftop to provide support for the crew.
