The annual "Thousand-Point Contest" is one of the largest and most rigorous truck comparison tests in Europe. The editors of the international authoritative truck media conducted field driving tests and ratings for major trucks on the European market. The event was sponsored by the German ETM Verlag Publishing Group, which publishes Lastauto Omnibus and Fernfahrer. The co-organizers include Transporte Mundial in Spain, Commercial Motor in the United Kingdom and Truckstar in the Netherlands. 
The vehicles that received the "Thousand-Point Race" test were heavy-duty trucks with 400 horsepower. The other three tractors competing with the Scania G 420 high top cab heavy truck are: Mercedes-Benz Axor 1840 LS (396 hp), Man TGS 18.400 LX (394 hp) and Volvo FM. 410 Globetrotter (405 hp).
