More than 250 users gathered from all parts of Shandong to witness the performance-enhancing fuel economy of Doosan 9C series. In the morning driving experience, a DX225LC-9C excavator and the old model launched a large-scale competition for earthwork construction at the site, causing enthusiastic participation of all users.

National III Standards Save Fuel More Efficiently

According to Xu Weijia, Doosan 9C series products are all equipped with EFI engines to meet the country's new country III emission standards. Among them, the 20-ton product uses a Doosan engine that has been used on Doosan's Korean aircraft for many years and is mature in technology. The mainframe uses a Scania engine and the technology is also very mature.

“We chose a mature EFI engine instead of a newly developed engine because the newly developed engine has not been validated for a long time and it is difficult to adapt to the conditions in China. Secondly, we have added more to all new aircraft. Oil-water separation filter, fully filtered water, and then through the engine's main filter, so that the engine's adaptability to the oil will be better, plus the five countries are rapidly gaining popularity of diesel, so the engine can meet all kinds of performance Working conditions."

The test results show that the mature engine technology enables Doosan 9C series products to achieve high pressure, accurate injection, low emissions, and low fuel consumption, saving 5% to 20% compared to the old models.

At the same time, the 9C series uses an intelligent control system to output power according to the specific conditions of the load. In order to reduce fuel consumption, Doosan also transferred some engine speeds from 2000 to around 1800 rpm. Due to the large-displacement main pump, although the rotation speed is reduced, the displacement of the main pump is increased, so the operating efficiency is not reduced at all; the layout of the hydraulic system is re-optimized, including the pipeline direction, the main pump with large flow, and the control valve. Improve efficiency.

9C series mainframes such as the DX380LC-9C, DX420LC-9C, and DX500LC-9C all use a dual-fan cooling system to cool the engine and the hydraulic oil system, respectively, to reduce wasted power. The medium-sized machine has more options, 20 tons of three models The products DX225LC-9C, DX220LC-9C and DX215-9C allow customers to select different products according to the actual working conditions; the minicomputers also greatly improve fuel consumption and power matching. Different conditions and model tests have shown that Doosan 9C series products can achieve 5%-10% efficiency improvement.

“The launch of each new generation of Doosan products will take at least two to three years,” said Xu Weijia. “Several batches of prototypes will be launched during the period. They will be subjected to rigorous durability testing and customer trials, respectively, to identify and correct the changes in time. As a result, the new products listed will be greatly improved in terms of durability and fuel consumption."

According to Xu Weijia, Doosan's new product development process is divided into six steps:

The first step: project approval. Understand market trends and determine product development direction and goals based on requirements.

Step 2: Determine the type of major components. Doosan 9C series products include all components including the boom and chassis. All components are developed in cooperation with South Korea. After that, the durability of these components must be strictly verified.

For example, for the verification test of the big arm, data such as force, working frequency and acceleration should be collected and continuously loaded to the big arm. Repeated verification should be performed according to different strengths and frequencies, and the new car can be used after being correct; For example, the water tank, to conduct acceleration experiments, on a platform, continuous vibration, vibration amplitude, acceleration, vibration time, will be compared with the data collected in the previous verification and comparison.

The third step: detailed design, detailed to every little detail. During this process, large-scale structural parts, including the engine and the shaft, undergo repeated durability tests. After passing the qualification, parts can be loaded into the vehicle.

The fourth step is to make a prototype. Four prototypes, one for performance testing, test engine power matching and fuel consumption, compared with the customer's expected fuel consumption previously surveyed, whether it meets expectations; the other three sets provide free trials to customers for comments.

Fifth step, feedback. Collect the problems discovered during the testing process and customer trials to improve the equipment.

In the sixth step, ten prototypes were produced for local sales. During this process, more voices were collected, further improvements were made to the products, and the mass production went on the market. Take the Doosan DX500LC-9C as an example, this car was put on the market in 2014 and it has been more than a year now. The customer’s response was very good. First of all, this model is very fuel efficient. The second is that the structural parts are very strong and there are no big faults.

Xu Weijia said that the development of excavators is extremely difficult and complex. It takes decades of accumulated technology as a foundation. These accumulated experiences will tell us how structural designs are more reasonable. How to verify? In particular, the domestic working conditions are very poor, and many users use excavators for a long time each day, so that the verification in the early stages is even more important. "This is a long-term process. It is difficult to design a qualified product in only three or five years."

According to Xu Weijia, Doosan 9C series products have covered all popular models ranging from 5.5 tons to 52 tons. The full range of products will fully meet the diverse needs and practical operating conditions of different customers.
