China’s No. 1 Heavy Machinery Group, which is known for creating the “first” of China’s heavy equipment, has recently sent good news. So far, the heaviest nuclear power ingots in China have been successfully smelted through the three-pack steel water vacuum after 19 hours of smelting. In the history of Chinese smelting, I wrote a strong and colorful stroke.
The total weight of the steel ingots is 312 tons. It is the core forging of the 650,000-kilowatt nuclear reactor pressure vessel of the Qinshan Phase II nuclear power plant, the national key project—the steel ingot used for the connecting section. The steel ingot is made of three packs of vacuum, which is the first time in the history of heavy production. In order to ensure the production of Qinshan nuclear power products, Yizhong Group has implemented one by one from the technical preparation of the previous stage to the production of various manufacturing processes, and adopted computer simulation technology to optimize the process.
The successful pouring of 312 tons of molten steel indicates that China Yizhong Group has reached the international advanced level in the technology of smelting super large and super heavy steel ingots. It is reported that because of the unique forging technology in the take-over section, it saves more than 120 tons of molten steel than foreign similar products.
