This is from Steve Redick: I responded to a call in an area I don’t often get to. It was a full-scale fire response at a double-wide mobile home located inside a large trailer park in the town of Justice, which is now served by the Roberts Park Fire Protection District. The situation was made more challenging due to extreme cold and severe water supply issues, which extended the duration of the incident. They had to use booster tank water from two engines and eventually found a working hydrant several hundred feet away. In the end, they deployed the tower ladder because the collapsed roof prevented access for ground-based exterior water streams. It was definitely a tough call on a very unpleasant day. These types of calls remind us how important it is to stay prepared and work together. I’m glad we were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
