Model NO.: YMGH-900
HS Code: 8421219990
  1. Description
The mechanical rake screen is a reliable and efficient solid-liquid separation device, widely used in municipal sewage treatment plants, residential communities, sewer pipelines, water supply facilities, and power plant cooling systems. It is also suitable for various industrial applications such as textile, food processing, aquaculture, papermaking, winemaking, slaughterhouses, and tanneries, where it performs washing or pretreatment screening. This equipment is ideal for removing large debris and suspended solids from wastewater, ensuring smooth operation and reducing maintenance costs. The mechanical rake screen operates through a main shaft driven by an electric motor. Sprockets on both sides of the main shaft drive a traction chain, which moves in a circular motion. Rake teeth are evenly distributed along the chain, and their spacing is staggered relative to the bar screen gaps. As the system rotates, the rake teeth move upward into the bar screen gaps, scraping off intercepted solids and discharging them onto a platform. The collected residue can then be transported via conveyor belts or waste carts.

  1. Technical Performance and Structural Features
  1. Equally spaced linear bars are installed at a 75° angle. A circulating chain-driven front-loading rake mechanism ensures effective removal of debris.
  2. The screen can start based on a timer or water level difference, effectively intercepting and removing large debris from the water flow.
  3. It can operate continuously for 24 hours at design flow rate and also work intermittently. After long shutdowns, it can return to normal operation. In this project, it runs every 30 minutes and stops for 60 minutes. If a storm occurs and the liquid level rises to 2m, the system automatically starts until the level drops to 1.5m.
  4. After an interruption, the rake mechanism can clear accumulated residue from a fully blocked screen.
  5. All structural components are designed for outdoor use and are built to last in harsh environments.
Structural Features
  1. Screen Bars
  1. The screen bars are made of parallel flat Stainless Steel with a 20cm spacing.
  2. The screen bracket dimensions match the channel width, secured with stainless steel bolts.
  3. The frame is securely fixed in reinforced concrete channels, with flexible baffles preventing bypass flow around the screen.
  4. Each bar has a rectangular cross-section, and the rake teeth are slightly angled to prevent small debris from accumulating.
  5. Guide rails on both sides of the screen prevent residue from submerging and interfering with the rake mechanism.
  1. Water Baffle
A baffle system is installed from the main screen body to the discharge area, ensuring that debris does not re-block the screen during operation.
  1. Rake Bar Device
  1. The rake bar removes debris from the front and sides. If the screen becomes clogged, the rake teeth can divert or lift automatically to pass obstacles.
  2. The rake bar is rigidly connected to the annular chain and moves along the guide rails on either side of the screen.
  3. Chain tension devices ensure proper tension even after long-term use, compensating for temperature changes, uneven loading, and wear.
  4. The rake teeth consist of supporting pipes and plates, extending downward to remove debris from the bottom of the screen, preventing dead zones from forming.
  1. Drive Unit and Housing
  1. The drive unit includes a motor, gear reducer, and chain rotation system. The gear reducer is from a well-known Chinese brand, offering high efficiency, low noise, and long service life.
  2. The chain rotation system features tension adjustment and mechanical overload protection. The overload protection uses a safety pin design.
  3. The drive shaft is strong and stiff, capable of withstanding bending moments and torque simultaneously.
  4. The motor is compatible with 380V, 3-phase, 60Hz power, and its rated power exceeds the maximum required power by about 10%.
(5) Guide Device
The guide pulleys are placed at the top and bottom of the screen frame, changing the direction of the rake teeth movement.
    1. Water Bottom Grid
The water bottom grid prevents debris from flowing back under the screen, and any trapped material is removed by the upper rake teeth.
    1. Noise: Overall noise level is less than 80dB (A).
    2. Corrosion Resistance: All materials are suitable for corrosive wastewater environments.
