Praxair (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Chemical Medical Group recently signed a joint venture and pipeline gas supply contract. Praxair will take up 60% of the joint venture, build and operate two air separation plants with a total capacity of 5,000 tons of oxygen per day. The air separation unit will supply industrial gases through pipelines to a world-class integrated chemical production complex centered on the BASF MDI production facility in Chongqing Changshou Economic Development Zone. Praxair's air separation unit produces liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon at the same time and is expected to start production in mid-2014.
