Introduction Working Principle of the Cartridge Filter The cartridge filter consists mainly of a cabinet, filter cartridges, and an injection system. When dusty gas enters the dust collector, the sudden expansion and air distribution plate cause larger dust particles to settle in the ash hopper due to gravity and inertia. Smaller, lighter particles are then captured in the dust filtering chamber. Through mechanisms such as Brownian diffusion and sieve filtration, dust accumulates on the surface of the filter material. The purified gas then exits through the exhaust pipe into the clean air chamber. As dust accumulates on the filter surface, the resistance increases. Once the resistance reaches a set value, the system stops the airflow, opens the electromagnetic pulse valve, and uses compressed air to blow the filter cartridge, causing it to vibrate and dislodge the accumulated dust. The dust falls into the ash hopper and is discharged through the discharge valve. Applications The pulse jet cartridge dust collector is suitable for various applications such as blast furnace blower inlet dust removal, oxygen generator systems, air compressor intake filtration, control room gas cleaning, master control room air intake, clean workshops, public building air conditioning systems, and low-concentration flue gas purification. As materials and dust removal technologies continue to evolve, the application range of cartridge filters is expanding. Today, they are widely used in industries like construction materials, metallurgy, power generation, food processing, and chemicals. They are increasingly replacing traditional bag filters and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs). Structure and Components The system is composed of three main parts: the filter cartridges, the cabinet, and the ash removal mechanism. (1) Filter Cartridges: Each cartridge is made up of an outer layer, inner layer, and middle layer. The inner and outer layers are covered with metal mesh or hard plastic netting, while the middle layer consists of folded filter material. A sub-micron ultra-thin fiber layer is attached to the general filter material, creating a very tight structure with gaps ranging from 0.12 to 0.6 microns. Due to the intensive folding, the filter area is significantly increased, making the cartridge highly efficient. (2) Cabinet: The cabinet serves as the outer shell of the dust collector and includes the gas tank and ash hopper. The gas tank provides the necessary space for cleaning, ensuring even airflow distribution, while the ash hopper collects the filtered dust. (3) Ash Removal Mechanism: This includes components such as the blowpipe, pulse valve, and air bags. When the dust on the filter surface reaches a certain thickness, the system initiates the cleaning process. Compressed air is used to pulse the filter cartridges, causing them to expand and vibrate, thus removing the dust. The system controls this process using a differential pressure gauge or a control instrument, which activates the corresponding electromagnetic valves. The cartridge dust collector is a type of filtration system that utilizes filter cartridges as its main filtering element. It represents an advanced development based on the pulse bag filter technology, specifically designed for air dust and industrial powder (smoke) removal. With high air volume (up to 99.5% efficiency), low operating pressure (0.2–0.6 MPa), and low resistance loss (800–1000 Pa), it has become a popular choice among users due to its excellent performance and cost-effectiveness. This device features advanced technology, a compact structure, low emissions, small footprint, and minimal investment and operational costs.
