We've expanded our coverage of the MABAS Division 15 with a detailed look at the Rockdale Fire Protection District. Located in a three-square-mile area, the district operates from a single fire station and is equipped with a variety of apparatus to handle emergencies. Their fleet includes two engines, a tanker, a squad, a brush truck, and two support vehicles, ensuring they're well-prepared for a wide range of incidents. The district's newest engine is a custom 2008 Sutphen top-mount pumper, known for its durability and advanced features. This unit is supported by a 1994 FMC Omega pumper built on a Sentinel chassis. The cab and chassis were manufactured by Spartan, giving it a classic "round-steel" style that's commonly associated with the Spartan RS series. However, this particular unit was customized with unique trim packages and options specifically designed for the FMC private label, making it one-of-a-kind in the fleet.
