Founded by Art Nelson and his wife Gerry, the company started with a strong reputation for solving complex pumping challenges. Today, A-L Equipment operates out of a custom-built facility in Glendale Heights, Illinois, spanning over 17,000 square feet. The location houses more than $4 million in inventory, including over $2 million in Viking products, making it one of the largest in the industry. The facility also employs 16 people, including warehouse staff, sales teams, and service personnel, all working together to support a wide range of industries.
The company serves major clients in raw chemical production, food and pharmaceutical processing, and green technology, including biodiesel and ethanol. Their product offerings include pumps, meters, and durable hose and cable reels, all backed by factory-trained technicians and on-site customization capabilities.
A-L Equipment has maintained a long-standing relationship with Viking Pump, carrying the entire product line since the company's inception. They have been members of the Viking President’s Club since 1993, and their partnership has led to numerous success stories. One notable example involved a critical emergency at BASF on Thanksgiving, where a Q-size Viking pump was quickly deployed to prevent a costly shutdown.
