PCBWay Fabrication Toolkit for Kicad

PCBWay has recently introduced a new plugin called PCBWay Fabrication Toolkit for KiCad. This powerful tool allows users to export four essential files with just one click: the Gerber file, IPC-Netlist file, BOM file, and Pick and Place file. By automating this process, it greatly streamlines pre-production tasks and saves valuable time.

Installation from the Official KiCad Repositories

Once installed, the plugin enables you to quickly generate BOM and centroid files directly from your design. This makes it easier to prepare your project for manufacturing.

After exporting these files, you can send them to PCBWay, where they will be reviewed by our team before proceeding to production.

Important Note: If you're placing a patch order, make sure to include the MPN (Manufacturer Part Number) in your design file. This helps us source the exact components you need more accurately during the quoting process.

Manual Installation

Alternatively, you can download the latest ZIP file from this GitHub repository.

Open the "Plugin and Content Manager" within KiCad's main window and install the ZIP file using the "Install from File" option.

About BOM Files

BOM (Bill of Materials) files provide all the necessary component details used in your design. To ensure a smooth and accurate quotation process, we require the following information:

• MPN/Part Number (required)
• Package/Footprint (required)
• Manufacturer (optional)
• Description/Value (optional)
